IndoNEWSian.com — In celebration of Eid al-Adha 1446 H, Yona Bagus Widyatmoko, Chair of Commission A of the Surabaya Regional Representative Council — popularly known as Cak YeBe — distributed 15 cows and 10 goats as a meaningful act of sacrifice and gratitude.
“This is not just a religious obligation, but a sincere expression of gratitude and commitment to share with the people,” Cak YeBe stated during the sacrificial event at YeBe Trans Garage, Jalan Mastrip 44, Surabaya, on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
4,000 Packs of Meat Distributed Equally
The sacrificial animals — each weighing between 650 to 850 kilograms — were processed and packaged into 4,000 individual parcels, with each package containing 1 kilogram of meat.
Meat Delivered to Street Vendors, Ride-Hailing Drivers, Orphanages, Mosques, and Firefighters
The meat packages reached various groups in need, including street vendors, online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol), orphanages, and mosques across Surabaya. A special gesture was extended to firefighters from the Wiyung District, who remained on duty during the festive period.
“While many celebrate with their families, these brave firefighters were still on duty. We wanted them to feel the joy of Eid too,” said Cak YeBe.
Journalists Included in the Eid Sharing Spirit
Cak YeBe also honored his partnership with the local media, distributing 100 packages of beef to journalists who cover the city’s development and community issues.
“Journalists are partners in public service. Their role in spreading accurate and timely information is vital,” he emphasized.
Local journalist Sila expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the distribution was more than just charity — it was a mark of mutual respect.
“Thank you, Cak YeBe, for remembering us. Your support means a lot to those of us who work in the field,” Sila said.
Eid al-Adha: A Moment for Unity, Generosity, and Public Service
For Cak YeBe, Eid al-Adha is a moment not only of faith and tradition, but also of solidarity, gratitude, and giving back to the city he serves. His initiative reflects how local leaders can lead by example and bring people together — one package of compassion at a time. (@)
