IndoNEWSian – Surabaya | The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Surabaya wasted no time in rallying its ranks after the party’s Central Executive Board (DPP) officially relieved Adi Sutarwijono of his duties as Chairman of the Surabaya Branch Executive Board (DPC) on May 2, 2025. Determined to avoid a prolonged period of uncertainty, the DPC held its first coordination meeting on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The meeting took place at the Election Winning Body Office on Jl. Adityawarman 87C — a historic and symbolic location for PDIP Surabaya, long considered a stronghold of the party’s local movement. The choice of venue underlined efforts to reinforce internal unity and revitalize the party’s structure.
Led by Acting Chairman Jordan M Bataragoa, the consolidation marked the initial step toward restoring party cohesion amid internal challenges.
“This is more than a routine consolidation. It is a declaration that PDIP Surabaya remains solid, responsive, and loyal to the party’s ideological path, no matter the challenges we face,” Jordan stated in a media briefing.
The meeting focused on mapping out the structural strengths of the organization, including filling vacant positions across all levels — from Sub-Branch Executives (PAC) to Branch (Ranting) and Sub-Branch (Anak Ranting) leadership throughout Surabaya.
According to Jordan, the party’s organizational structure is its lifeblood. “Any vacancy could disrupt the flow of political work. We’re here to ensure that doesn’t happen,” he asserted.
Beyond technical discussions, the agenda also addressed ideological aspects. All PAC officials were reminded of the importance of upholding the values of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), ideological discipline, and unwavering loyalty to party decisions.
Jordan emphasized that the consolidation is not merely a reaction to the leadership transition, but a strategic effort to strengthen the organization’s resilience amid an increasingly dynamic political landscape.
“PDIP Surabaya’s DPC is determined to leave no room for confusion or stagnation. Our political engine must keep running, our ranks must remain consolidated, and our pro-people agendas must continue,” he explained.
He concluded by reaffirming the party’s central mission — serving the people. “People-focused work must go on. No matter how intense the internal dynamics, we remain committed to working for the people,” Jordan emphasized. (@/red)
