Surabaya – IndoNEWSia.com || Aldy Blaviandy, a member of Commission A of the Surabaya City Council (DPRD) from the Golkar Party, held his first recess agenda for the 2025 fiscal year at the community post of RT 01, Plampitan Alley 1, Peneleh Sub-district, Genteng District.

The young legislator received a warm welcome from the local residents. Rudi Islamiyanto, the head of RT 01, expressed his appreciation, saying, “We really appreciate Mas Aldy. He’s still young, but his commitment to fighting for the people of Surabaya is truly admirable.”

During the dialogue session, residents voiced concerns regarding civil administration services, healthcare access, and social assistance programs. Several community members raised issues about difficulties in obtaining Family Cards (KK) due to their unstable housing status, which also affects their eligibility for social aid.

Addressing the matter, Aldy explained, “The new regulations regarding family registration are admittedly confusing, but the main goal is to verify those who genuinely reside in Surabaya. That’s why communication with the civil registration office (Dispendukcapil) is essential,” Aldy said.

Residents also questioned why many people are still not covered under the BPJS Health Contribution Assistance Program (PBI). “A lot of rules have changed since early this year. But one thing is clear—hospitals are not allowed to reject patients. Denying medical care, especially just because of unpaid BPJS dues, is unacceptable and can be reported,” Aldy firmly stated.

Another issue raised was the difficulty in obtaining referral letters from local clinics (puskesmas). Aldy emphasized that public services should be easy and efficient. “Service issues may seem trivial, but their impact is significant. When clinics are slow or uncooperative, it’s the people who suffer,” he noted.

Aldy encouraged residents to actively report any obstacles they face in accessing public services. “If you encounter any issues, report them to us. We’re here to make sure government programs run effectively,” he said.

As a representative of the people, Aldy pledged his full support to help resolve community problems. However, he also urged residents to cooperate by preparing all necessary documents and trying to handle simple matters independently first.

“First, make sure all documents—both physical and digital—are ready. Second, provide a reachable phone number. Third, try to handle the process on your own first. If you get stuck, then come to us and we’ll assist immediately,” he explained.

Residents also brought up the issue of traditional market revitalization. Aldy, who also serves as chairman of the Golkar faction, shared that he had coordinated with Commission B, which is currently discussing the regulations and funding mechanisms for the revitalization effort.

“We want local markets to thrive while becoming more comfortable and better organized,” he concluded. (@/red)
