IndoNEWSian – SURABAYA | Member of Commission A of the Surabaya City Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), Tubagus Lukman Amin from the National Awakening Party (PKB) Faction, conducted a recess visit during the first session period of the 2025 fiscal year at RW 02, Pakis Subdistrict, Sawahan District, on Friday (May 16, 2025).
During the meeting, RW 02 Chairman, Mustofa, expressed concerns over the delayed realization of road paving in RT 02, RT 03, RT 05, and RT 06. The project proposal, submitted in 2020, has yet to be implemented.
“They said it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the budget was diverted to social assistance. Then in 2024, we were told to reapply. It was supposedly handled by the Department of Human Settlements (Dinas Cipta Karya). Several surveys, measurements, and photo documentation were conducted, and we were promised that the work would begin in April 2025. But again, nothing has happened,” said Mustofa.
Responding to the issue, Tubagus stated that he had already raised the matter directly with the Sawahan sub-district head during the Accountability Report (LKPJ) forum. However, there has been no definitive explanation to date.
“Warga ojok di-PHP thok rek (Don’t give people false promises — local Surabayan dialect),” Tubagus stressed. “I see this as a betrayal of the people,” he added. Tubagus currently serves as the Chair of the PKB Faction in the Surabaya City DPRD.
He emphasized the need for a clear timeline on the implementation of infrastructure programs that have already been approved. “What matters most is clarity. If it’s already part of the official program, then it must be realized,” he asserted.
Beyond the issue of road paving, Tubagus also noted other community complaints, including difficulties in accessing healthcare services through the government-subsidized BPJS PBI insurance, as well as problems with civil administrative services.
Tubagus pledged to follow up on all community input and ensure coordination with the relevant departments in Surabaya City Government. “We will take every complaint seriously so that no resident feels neglected,” he concluded. (@/red)
