Currently, China ranks last in Group C with six points, tied with Bahrain but trailing due to goal difference (-13 versus -8). In third place, Indonesia leads by a margin of three points, boasting a goal difference of -6.

According to tournament rules, rankings are determined first by points, then goal difference, goals scored and finally head-to-head records. Even if China win both of their remaining matches, against Indonesia on June 5 and Bahrain on June 10, they can still be eliminated.

Losing to Indonesia would instantly terminate their chances of qualifying. This high-pressure situation has clearly impacted the team.

“This is a fight for survival. Winning is the only choice. There’s no space for backing down,” said Forward Zhang Yuning.
