Surabaya Lawmaker Yona Bagus Widyatmoko Gathers Community Aspirations in Made Village

IndoNEWSian.com — Chairman of Commission A of the Surabaya City Council (DPRD Surabaya), Yona Bagus Widyatmoko, conducted a community dialogue session as part of the 3rd Legislative Session of 2025, in Made Village, Sambikerep District. The public consultation took place across RT 001 to RT 004 in RW 003 and RW 004, engaging dozens of local residents and stakeholders, Wednesday, (14/5).

This “reses” (recess hearing) is a crucial platform for lawmakers in Indonesia to directly absorb citizens’ concerns, suggestions, and requests — especially related to infrastructure, economic empowerment, and public service accessibility.

Boosting Micro-Businesses and Women’s Initiatives

One key highlight came from Ms. Astrid of RT 004 RW 003, who emphasized the need for sustainable micro-enterprise development, especially through accessible capital support. In response, Yona proposed tapping into Himbara (Association of State-Owned Banks) financing schemes or forming a “Merah Putih Cooperative” as encouraged by the President of Indonesia — offering capital loans below IDR 100 million without collateral, provided community-level oversight is enforced.

Another voice, Ms. Eni, coordinator of local health volunteers (KSH) from RT 002 RW 003, requested uniforms and recreational activities for KSH members — a vital morale boost for frontline community caregivers.

Public Services and Local Tourism Support

Mr. Fahrul Rozi, a resident of RT 002 RW 003, proposed a collective driving license (SIM) issuance program for residents, which will be followed up with the Sambikerep sub-district office.

From the youth sector, Mr. Reno, representing Karang Taruna (youth organization), requested walkie-talkies and a camera to help with documentation and publicity for local traditions like “Desa Made Tourism Month” and “Sedekah Bumi” (earth thanksgiving ceremony).

Infrastructure and Long-Awaited Developments

Mr. Kamat, Head of RW 003, raised longstanding concerns over flood-prone areas near the northern traffic light zone, which remain unresolved despite being acknowledged by Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi. Yona committed to escalating this issue again within council sessions and coordinating with public works departments.

Yona Bagus Widyatmoko also pledged to monitor unrealized proposals from previous community planning forums (Musrenbang) that date back to early 2025.

Support for Early Education and Elderly Welfare

Representing early childhood education, Ms. Tuna Harapan, head of a local PAUD center, asked for basic equipment such as classroom fans. The request will be prioritized under the education support agenda.

Furthermore, a direct cash assistance of IDR 7.5 million was handed over during the event to help fund uniforms for senior citizens and KSH volunteers in RW 003.

Yona Bagus Widyatmoko: A Commitment to Inclusive and Participatory Development

“Every concern, no matter how small, will be tracked and addressed,” said Yona Bagus Widyatmoko. “As your representative in electoral district V, I will ensure that community development happens from the ground up — inclusively and transparently.”

Also attending the event was Mr. Widodo, Head of Made Village, who applauded residents’ enthusiasm in actively engaging with their local legislature. (@ngga)
